First day off with the new job in a new state. This is what happens when Im bored and dont know what to do. Cant wait to see what I do in another month.

OldGrey, Im looking into getting a 16" barrel in 9mm and making the stock work again but I have to be 922r compliant to make it a carbine. Gotta figure out what I need to do to be 922r compliant.

LOL! That's fantastic.

You'll be really hard pressed to find enough US made parts to put in that to make it 922r compliant. That being said I've never heard of anyone other than an importer actually having their weapons checked for 922r compliance. It's one of those things that they make a big deal about on forums and whatnot but in practice it's basically something that the ATF can use to throw additional fines/etc. on someone that's already in a heap of trouble.

NOTE: This post isn't advocating breaking federal law, it's just for information purposes.

9mm conversions on these old russian guns are fun. Wolff springs I believe makes a lower power recoil spring you can use. I know I've got 9mm barrels for a few of my Tokarevs and have Wolff reduced power springs for those. I do generally prefer to shoot x25mm out of them though. That little round is such a beast!

The fun part of the PPS is that the only part needed for the 9mm converson is the barrel! x25 is a little harder to get than 9mm which is why I plan to do that. Still havnt shot the PPS and its NIB.

Will it cycle 9mm with the x25 spring? That'd be pretty nifty if it would. For my tokarev pistols I have to change the spring and barrel. Still a real simple conversion.

Yup! Most who have done the conversion put a KP44 barrel in it after some minor lathe work. Now commertially available 9mm barrels can be found and even a 9mm version is being imported. Even the x25 mags and bolt work fine as 9mm is pretty much the same diameter. I think with 9mm the mag only holds 34 and not 35.

The PPS is about the most simple gun in the world. I dont even thing the real full auto ones are select fire, just full auto.

I need to call some class 3 FFLs and ask them about AOW and what not then get my paperwork done. I hear its still 4+ months for paper. They really need to get efiling for individuals done.

Ah yeah, there's a few places that sell 9mm barrels ready to drop into the PPS. I think you have to pop the trunion out to headspace the barrel properly. It should still hold the regular capacity, 9mm and x25 are exactly the same diameter at the rear of the case so it should fit just fine.

Yep, they're full auto only. There's only a few parts to the FA ones. I've got the parts to build one, just waiting to get my class 3 license I'd go ahead and SBR it myself. It's more fun having the stock.
