To all of you who still have chilly weather, fuck you. I'm burning up here in Florida, take this time to work on your shit. I refuse to work on mine when the weather is 78 degrees at 9am

Jeez HB92, if you only work when the temp is below 78, how the blazes do you get anything done? Put down that TV remote and "Git 'er Done". I re purposed the parts from an old, over the range, microwave to help keep cool. Glued the magnetron magnets to the vent fan to which I wired the fan capacitor and cord. I covered the magnets with felt. Now it sticks to the underside of the hood and that squirrel cage fan puts out a surprising amount of breeze, fairly quietly. Next time you see a microwave on the curb, strip it.

Try Phoenix AZ where we can have the summer LOW be 90 to 95F at like 5 am. I won't describe what 119F in the shade feels like in the sunshine. There's no one outside except in their air-conditioned vehicles. Just like now.

Cleaned the shit out of my office space. The garage is next. And I ordered some new parts for the daily...a set of new control arms, an OE driver door seal (the original one has been torn since forever) and a window switch panel that hasn't lined up properly in 10+ years. I've got a couple of small electronics-based things to do as well:
Fix my broken PS3 (disc reader). It would be a fitting time to play The Last of Us again lol. Clean out the new-to-me xbox. Someone gave it to me about a year ago and I haven't really done anything with it. It does work but it's packed full of dog hair so I'll have to open it up and clean it out. Fix the window switch in my car. I have a junkyard one in there now but I bet it's probably something simple like a burnt contact or a cracked solder joint somewhere. At least it's not West Texas dry heat with the [sarcasm] beautiful [/sarcasm] smell of burned-off hydrogen sulfide in the air. Bet jp2code knows exactly what that odor is.

Semi retired and, living in Arizona where we have no lockdown (as of 3-29-20) but; across the river, both Laughlin and Needles are in a world of hurt.
Suffice to say; I uber grateful for my circumstances. |

I'll still take our 120F ambient Bullhead City temps over some muggy place like Wash DC, where I was born/raised

Still working. I work for the State of Florida/Child Support- Mailroom. We will probably be the last, if any, that get sent home. I'm responsible for checks getting to the PostOffc. I drive a box truck daily. It really sucks, because Tallahassee is having great weather right now, but I'm at work 'til 5 every day. I did take Wednesday's off until all this it over, to help watch the kids. My 12yo watches over the 4yo while the wife & I are at work. Fortunately I live less than 5 miles from work so my commute is nonexistent, and if anything happens to the girls, we're 5mins away, and go home for lunch and breaks( occasionally on the breaks, always at lunch ).But all this good weather is useless if you cant go to the beach, or parks, or places. So I set up a small pool and slip-N-slide it he backyard for some enjoyment.
