OMG...you went the Whole Smash on that one. Damn...I wasn't going to suggest spending THAT much. Well, what the hell...that should end any problems with a fuel pump for....EVER.

Yeah. It surely will. I would definitely clean out the gas tank before installing that one. Definitely worth it, since you went 'all the way' and pulled the trigger on the Big Kahuna fuel pump setup.

EDIT: You might want to post up some pics or a video of your fuel pump replacement, and the truck itself. You know...later when you're ready. I think everyone would be interested.

That's the plan, hence I keept being dense about the 1 or J thing. Before the pump went out I was planning to spend the weekend detailing the truck so that I could post it here

Pump assembly came in and got it installed on the truck, then remembered that i was suppose to take pictures..doh.

To answer the original question when this thread was started is that a "fuel pump assembly" that is designated for a J vin hardbody works in a 1 vin hardbody. The top of the design was a bit different from the original but it did say made in Japan just like the original in the tank.

Only time will tell if it works and if it works properly, so far have put only a dozen miles on the truck. Will update if issues come up otherwise assume everything runs as it should.

Hey...if you turn on the key...
You hear the buzzing of the pump...
And then the buzz STOPS.
And then the truck starts right up and goes...

You are there. Nice job.
