Couple of updates:

I found out this Z is a two-seater. That happened when I tried to pull up the back seats. There weren't any. I said on another thread that Bugs Bunny would call me a maroon, but the wife and I are dedicated to the restoration.

Let car run with the new relay and the new wiring near the battery for an extended period. Seemed okay, no warnings, no funny stuff. Still...this is a car that needs to be handled carefully until we fix the flaws. Running gear and systems seem solid enough. Most of the work will be elbow grease.

White carpet is stock. Asked the previous owner about it, and saw the end seams that were obvious factory. Thing I can't figure out is why the original owner got white, when the door carpet stuff is silver. It's a mystery. Previous owner is the SECOND owner, and couldn't give me the answer why.

I think it looks fine the way it is. Someone should just drive that thing.

The 280 had the inline 6, right?

Inline six, yes. But since all the electricals work now, I have to clean it up for resale. I might take it for a run to Mt Rainier after it's ready, but that's it.

I would love to keep it, but I'm satisfied with my truck. The Z will be sold to finance the wife a nice Pathy with low miles. She wants to join IN. And I couldn't afford the maintanance or insurance on that Z anyway.

Insurance on the 280 should not be any more than on the d21.

I mean, even if you had full coverage, the insurance company is going to likely deny your claim if you crash it. Sad.

on the right side behind the o/flow bottle is a "inspection light" I see its broken, those things are great, unscrew (half turn) the light and it pulls out(all the wire is tucked into the housing) then you have light for whole the engine bay

Man I'm jealous, that is a real nice car. Most of the ones around here have the dog beat out of them and people still want 5k for it.

Yeah. The cover is gone. Light still works though. But I found a replacement cover taken from a tactical flashlight. It goes over the flashlight to turn it into a tent light, and fits the Z light exactly. I might have to use some removable glue to keep it in place. If I do, I will switch out the bulb for one of those new chip-driven lights that last practically forever. They are brighter anyway.
