Default 1991 4x4 V6 Project

Some new parts stocked up and ready for warmer weather. Exhaust and CV Joints were 1st on the list along with valve cover gaskets and a tune up. Going with Headers.

Great start man! Let us know how the header install went, I want to add headers to my wd21 pathfinder in the future.

After reading a lot of threads it seems like the way to go. Will definitely post some pics of the install. Learned a lot from all of the other threads.

Please do post pics. My truck is similar and I'd love to see your build process.

Default Warm Day

Starting on passenger side as it's easier access. Used a 3/8 rounded bolt remover from Harbor Freight to remove the stubborn heat shield cover bolts. Some snapped off with it. Some came off with a 10mm. Looks like 4 of the 6 studs remain intact. Will have to easy out a minimum of 2 possibly more if I break. Starting soaking with AeroKroil. Will also make up a batch of tranny fluid acetone 50/50 mix and soak the living hell out of them for a month. Started soaking the cv bolts as well.

PB blaster, man! Soak it, let it sit, soak it more. Repeat!

Are those headers shortys?

Thanks for the advice. I plan on soaking it a couple times a day with a combination of PB type products for a month or more.

I don't think they are shorty's. Doug Thorley set from Rugged Rocks. I think they are medium length.

When I did my long tubes I soaked my old manifolds on PB Blaster for about 2 weeks. Spray them down before and after each trip.

They just looked shorter than I remember mine being. Interested to see what sort of difference they make!

I'll update the thread each step and keep soaking until spring.
