No computer swap needed. Jumper the neutral safety switch and it will start. Benefits are no speed limiter.

Is this a 240 trans or the hardbody trans?
Ive got pedals and master and slave cylinders in but just ziptied out of the way until i can get time to pull the auto and install the 240 trans. Then send drive shaft off for shortening.

It is not a 240SX trans, it is a Hardbody transmission. I was originally offered a FS5W71B from a Datsun 620 from a friend but as luck had it someone from up the street from me had a 71C on CL for $100 with only 90,000 miles. Could not pass it up. I purchased the MT driveshaft from another HB owner in PA and had that shipped via UPS. And since I am switching this truck back to a H190 axle the driveshaft should fit with no modifications.

And since we are on the subject I thought I would point this out.

Auto transmission mount on left. Rockauto Manual Transmission mount on right. The RockAuto mount is wrong as wrong can be. The catalog listing is bunk. A friend of mine who works for a Parts Plus looked up the correct mount for me. You can see it in the pics earlier.

On another note:

The master cylinder can be installed once you remove the window washer jug. You will need a clutch pedal assembly from the JY. It contains the studs needed to mount the slave to the firwall. Be sure to grab all the bolts, clevis pins and nuts that go with the clutch pedal. And Nissan has discontinued the clutch line from the master cylinder to the damper. Here's a way around that and you can eliminate the damper at the same time. Buy a clutch line for a 1999 Frontier 2wd instead. It follows the same path and eliminates the damper all together.

More reference pics for anyone thinking about performing this swap.

I found that tipping the entire engine/transmission forward by floor jack made it easier (not easy, just easier) to get at the mounting bolts behind the cylinder head. So before you bolt the rear of the transmission down keep it loose so you can jack it up and down. Free pointer!

BONUS!!
The paint scheme I think we are going with.

Another route you can go with the clutch line is on 240s they convert to manuals all the time, so you can find "auto-to-manual hydraulic line" all over ebay. Its a flexible line that can be strapped down out of the way. I think i got mine for $50

A regular brake hose can be used as well.
