Scored rollbar from junk yard. Wheels off CL. Everything is just leaning against the truck for imagination sake.

Sorry about not updating this in a while. Not much has happened since the transmission died.On my way to jury duty the truck started slipping badly. Finally it wouldn't move forward at all. Had it towed home. It moves when the fluid is cold, warm it won't. With the help of a friend we are installing a 71B series 5 speed from a 620. I have the flywheel from a parts KA I have sitting in the garage. Looking like it's time for a swap. Won't be happening until Spring though. Either way the truck is off the road and out of the salt which is good. She'll make it to 23 years old.

44 degrees today and feeling inspired by the stadium truck I am helping a friend build; I decided to do an actual test fit of the wheels I bought a couple of months ago. This is is my future part-time rallycross truck.

I like the look of the 31's on it but I am thinking something a couple sizes smaller. I love the wheels, got those dirt cheap. A very 80's look that works.

So much to report! The truck is no longer an auto!!!!! It's nothing at the moment. Here's the list of things I have done to it so far and some pics.

-H233b swap. 4.3 gears with factory LSD. (3/28/2018...the axle was in the truck then removed. It was reinstalled 3/24/2018)
-Clutch pedal and piping installed.
-240sx cam
-purchased roll cage.
-acid washed and painted frame
- custom leaf packs using HD springs off my 86. Overload leaves removed.
-3 inch lowering blocks
-poly bushings in the rear.

Pics not working!

November 2013

Moved truck to my friends garage.

Continued transforming truck into stick.

New steering wheel.

Getting things to line up.

Where things left off.

I have a 1990 2wd 5 speed KA parts truck sitting behind my garage. Same original color as mine, and red interior even. Rusty as sin, but runs descent. I got it with intent to swap the 5 speed into my column shift auto 91. I'll be watching, and I'm sure I'll have a few questions at some point.

Ask away! I feel I know this truck better than I ever expected because of this project.

More pics in random order.

Correct transmission mount! Rockauto is wrong on this mount FYI!

Creature comforts...

...with new, junk yard, steering wheel.

Transmission almost in.

Would you look at that... auto transmission speedo cable plugs right in, just needs to be re-routed some.

More random:

Pics from the flywheel install.

Some of you might run into this...
On the 240sx KA engines there is a pressed in bushing in place of the the pilot bushing, in most cases it needs to be drilled or dremeled out.

On the truck engines, or at least mine, Nissan used these instead.

They just slide off the end of the crankshaft, no press was needed. After these are off you can press in a regular pilot bushing using a hammer and a 15mm socket.

New throw out bearing is a no brainer.

There is a 'V' shaped retainer clip on the back side of the control arm, replace that. Mine was bent slightly after 90,000 miles of use. It's $2 at the dealer. Why chance it?

I found this rubber cover all chewed up.

Cheap replacement from the dealer helps keep water and grime out.

Floor cover from the junk yard. The column shift floor cover is on the right.

Slave cylinder installed.

This was done last year. Acid washed the frame with Phosphoric acid from Home Depot. Left the acid on for 8 hours then painted the frame with Chassis Saver.

Life would not be the same without some painted frame rails and an H233b with factory limited slip. Of course this axle is coming back out and going into my green truck for autoX'ing.

More random shit.

Manual trans x-member on left, auto on right.

3" lowering blocks with poly bushings and removed overload leaves.

My thoughts on autos.

On the dolly headed to my friends garage last October.

The day I brought it home.

*Looked cool but could not turn for shit.

Shortly after de-ratting it.

Installing clutch pedal.

That's it for now.
