Well I have spent too much to go back you might say. The main problem with the SR20 on the oil starvation issue is the oil pan. The pickup is in the lower sump, even letting the motor sit on the oil pan can cause the oil pickup to get clogged. Unfotunately most people can still read good oil pressure until the engine starts to fly apart on this issue. Once you notice the oil presure is low its too late, of course most people don't have a guage at first when doing a swap and just want to run the snot out of it because they are addicted to the power.
I have a complete aftermarket computer plus its installed in my new frame so at this point I am married to it but think I won't mind after I get all the bugs worked out. I picked up an extra block to rebuild just incase I have an oops, I have a motor on standby. I agree its harder to get some parts but quite a few of the online performance import motor companies do carry things like water pumps. A bonus for the SR20 Vs the RB series is one of SR cousins was produced for the USA, just not the turbo version and quite a few parts are the same for both. I just have to be aware if something fails I can't go to NAPA and get it locally, I will have to order it. Most of the time it will be cheaper this way but if your in a pinch your screwed (aka at a show 500 miles from home and poof). I just have to ask nis720, what type of power are you getting from your setup?

After my last post the joke is on me. Guess I should watch more movies, well at least remember parts of them anyway.
These might help refocus a few thoughts ![]() ![]()
