Gasoline? Maybe. What about rubbing alcohol?

Nice project. I love to see nice heads get stripped down and cleaned.

Before I make them pretty they need to get tested to find out if they are worth making pretty.

Continued to dig the VG33e out of the donor truck today. Sawzall is the best too ever. Chopped off the center of the core support and bumper. From there I removed all the bell housing bolts, not with the sawzall lol. Pulled the starter. Pulled the front and rear driveshafts. At this stage the only thing holding the motor and trans in are the mounts, easy. I need to bring my buddies cherry picker over before anything else can continue though.

About to tank.

After 4 hours of tanking.

Pulled the spark plugs...2 NGK and 4 Autolite? Going to be removing the valves then from there it's off to the machine shop for a check over.

Autolite plugs? Ugh...I'm sure you're not going that route on the replacement. And Champion plugs should be banned.

Nippondenso or NGK. I like those. Your heads look better, by the way. Good luck on this project, FM. Hey...this machine shop you use...are they pretty knowledgable on the tolerance numbers? Heights and factory clearances, etc.

If not, you could print them up the proper page from the FSM.

I'm a NGK guy.

Had the turd out for a frolick last week. Strange enough all the engine noises were gone and it had full oil pressure. KA engines...rubbish. I am continuing my VG build. I have been reading up on the VG34E, I am thinking that is the route I wish to take.
