If you plan on doing more of your own repairs might I suggest you eventually invest in an electric impact gun, they are total life savers. I have a Kobalt that I swear by.

Dude yes, if you don't have an electric impact you NEED one of those in your life. I've got a corded 15A model that I use for large stuff (it puts out more torque than my air powered one) and a battery powered Ryobi for smaller (generally anything 17mm or less) jobs.

if the crank spins clockwise when you are standing in front of the truck, you can put a socket on the crank with a breaker bar and bump the starter to loosen it.

It stems from the harness where the alternator positive wire splits off. I looked pretty well everywhere I could see from the top side of the engine bay and hopped under and couldn't see a missing connector from the intake manifold side.

It has one green wire and a ground.
I think that is a diode that plugs into that connector. They do it that way so it is easily replaceable.

Yeah an impact gun is a must for those kinds of things. I have a harbor freight 1/2" earthquake gun that I've owned for the last 2 years and it's holding up just fine Not a fan of the starter bump method personally but that's just me.

Yesterday I took off all the exhaust hardware and put lock washers behind them. Still ticking but hopefully the exhaust bolts won't back out again. Methinks it's time for some rislone at the next oil change.

i pull the fuel fuse when i do it. done it on just about every car ive ever had that spun clockwise. never had a problem. I especially like it if it keeps me from having to pull the radiator.

Ive never needed an impact driver. Usually a good cheater bar does the trick. Need to grab one for my stash.

Really getting pissed off at dealing with the truck. A simple check the timing is going to take several days, pulling the air filter, pulling all the plugs, refill the coolant, and all other sorts of BS. 2 hours down, my back is in pain and I barely have the timing cover off.
