Hi Jim,
I think that you have the HD chassis, which is would explain why your axle is located on the bottom of the springs rather than under like most 2wd trucks..Alternatively, you could look for a "flip kit" which will give you a U shaped bracket for locating the axle above the springs. These guys make a few different versions that accommodate pinion angle correction and would be able to tell you which unit would be the correct one to choose: http://djmsuspension.com/flip-kits/ If I recall correctly the ranger kit provides right around 4"-5" of drop, which may or may not be enough drop for you.
Good luck with your search.

Alright, I get what ur saying now. Weird, anyway, I dare say that someone has converted your springs to be overslung in order to gain a better load height and more ground clearance. Just change it back. Instant lowering and u get less axle wrap with a better center of gravity.

I don't think any type of d21 came with overslung leaf.

Hi Stickeye,
The reason that I say it appears that he has the HD chassis is because if you look at the pic he posted zoomed in, you can see that he has the fully boxed rear frame rails, which I am reasonably certain was only available on the HD chassis. Add to that the beefy factory looking bump stop mounts directly above the axle and I would believe the sum of those parts would mean that this is one of the heavy duty long beds that were available.
I am also pretty sure that the 4WD trucks all had the leaf above the axle, and the 2WD HD chassis used the same arrangement for better load capacity.

Jim, JP2Code has an HD truck, so he would be able to confirm that your chassis is an HD version.

I see what ur saying but most trucks outside of the USA were all basically what u might consider "HD". For example my truck has the HD centrelink for front suspension, but this is standard. Its not the same as 4wd either. My truck has the beefier bumpstops, but that's just a regional thing. And overslung leaf does not provide better load capacity necessarily, just a higher load height and better ground clearance. These things can help when handling more than say a tonne, but do not help with load rating.

I've never seen a hardbody with overslung leaf from factory either, and if they would have done it in Australia people would know about it.
