Default Quick, sombody run out to their '86.5 - '90 VG30i and...

...see where I need to reattach this braided ground cable. It is on the driver's side of the engine. The photo shows where it attaches to a bracket but I can't remember from where I removed the near end.

This is a picture of the attached end of the braided ground cable zoomed out to allow reference for locating the thing of which I speak.

Here a little bit closer:

The next photo is from the left fender towards the left side of the engine. Some landmarks are identified. I need to know where to reattach the ring connector that is shown here within my thumb and index finger please.

If you'll go out and check it in the rain, I'll go out and fix it in the rain.

Mine is bolt to the inner fender just below the charcoal canister.

One side should be connected to the frame or body. Is that the side that is already connected? At 5:30AM, it's too dark out there for me to see on mine.

If so, the other side connects to the engine - and usually on one of the little bolts holding the heat shield in place on the exhaust manifold.

But, if you let the wire lay where it naturally wants to fall to, John's Charcoal Canister location sounds about right. If there is a small screw or empty screw hole near where that wire naturally falls, that's probably the Glory Hole you seek.

That little cable isn't even there in my truck. Guess someone removed it sometime in the past, or it rusted away.

I went out to look at mine, too, but I did not see anything that looked like to what appears to be a sway bar along the frame.

The only ground strap mine had in that area was the one from the charcoal canister to where it used to mount on the exhaust manifold shields (currently attached to a threaded hole on the AC bracket). I did not see any sway bar along the frame of my truck where kenmack's picture indicates. ...but then, mine is a 2x4.

I would just ground it somewhere convenient. Probably still run fine even if you took it off. I have one of those grounded to the slave cylinder. Other end is a two-prong connector with nothing to hook it to. I have no idea what it is LOL. Truck runs, and I wrapped the wire so it doesn't flop around. I swear a ground wire or two on a hardbody might just be to dissipate static or something.

Factory Service Manual might be called for here, if nothing else. Knows all, sees all. Over 1,000 pages of Nissan can't be wrong.

I made this YouTube video of my 1989 Nissan Hardbody V6 4x4 stick shift.
Hopefully it helps anyone out.
