tore the fucker down at my buddy's place. Replaced all the spindle studs, tied up the broken axle shafts for the time being, started my rear XJ leaf swap, got fed up then and came home. Will finish the job in the morning and take lots of pictures.

Been there, done that although it was brake springs and not the oil pan. I now have a fake tooth as a result. Glad to hear you got it fixed.

put on fresh rotors, calipers and pads on the front end. little bitch froze a caliper on new rotors and pads, smoked the pad twice. i assume the previous owner just pad slapped it and didnt service the calipers.

fuckers are impossible to bleed. took me like 6-drive/bleed cycles to get all the air out. every drive seemed to loosen a bubble and make it drive like shit. irritating. i installed speed bleeders and that seemed to help.

incidentally, the bleeding procedure for the 96 is slightly different than any other car ive ever read. kinda worth noting.

due to a bent rear cab window hinge letting water leak inside and flooding my rear floor, the truck had been tarped for three days. in the last 48 hours we have been inundated with close to 4 inches of rain.
