Had a friend come over to help put the front end back together.
Installed new (both sides): upper link\control arms with bushings and ball joints, bearings and seals, rotors and pads.
Had to take a quick side trip to the bone yard to get another torque member as one of the caliper mounting points was not floating properly; probably part of why that side had problems (that and the pad installation snafu, see my Riddle Me This post). Found out that there are minor differences in exactly how the calipers are mounted. Two of the trucks had smaller bolts, one had a bolt and piston or stud on top and the last was the same as mine, 14mm bolts.
Replaced all four shocks, Monroe OESpectums up front and KYB Excel-Gs in the back.
Still need to replace the stabilizer bushings; the lower arms and ball joints were OK.
Discovered I have four leaf springs...only one out of the 4 trucks we looked at today had 4 (the 96?), the others had 3.

Found a center console from a 2000 Xterra. Cupholders! Easy fit.

I did use the rear bracket. On the front I just used a scrap piece of wood and screwed it in. Holds nicely.

Took off and cleaned plenum, valve covers etc. changed all plugs to ngk iridiums. Purchased some bolts and washers for valve covers. Cleaned sludge out of engine. Purchased some fuel line. Cleaned throttle body. Will start reassembly next week.

In addition to the new wheels and tires I have begun removing stripes. Trying to decide on how it looks with just the remaining ones left on. Thoughts?
