Default VG30 motors

ok fellas, I have been doing a bit of looking on the ol interweb and still am a little confused on a few things

I have a 87 Hardbody 4x4 w the v6. long story short it dropped a valve and destroyed that cylinder

I recently bought a "rebuilt" motor that was out of an 87 300zx and went to swap some stuff over and now seeing a few differences.

my main concern is the
1) water pump - I've seen Nissan nuts write up on cutting down the truck 4x4 and using it but why not just use the 300zx water pump? im asking cause the "New" motor has what looks like a brand new pump

2) Crank - I have also noticed that the new motor harmonic balancer pully bolt is bigger than the old motor. Do I need to use the old crank to make sure that the pullys line up right? if so does that mean I need to swap out the water pump aswell because I do believe the new one is a tad longer

Thanks,
James

The 300z water pump will be fine, the 2wd trucks use the same pump. The crank pulley should also work since I found the brackets mostly the same between the two.

If you haven't checked this page it does a way better job explaining things than I ever could.

do not carve this into stone but...
12309-V5000 is 3 1/2"
12309-0W000 is 5 1/2"
not sure how accurate that is... maybe david29 can chime in, he may have one or both styles
