I've only run pioneer head units in what I own, i love the sound of alpines but never cared for how you used them. but pioneer, alpine and kenwood all make quality products and you get what you pay for, ie spend a little more and the head unit is nicer then their base model stuff

Not a single person recommends Sony?
Is there a major significance or difference between the single vs. the double din* set ups? *oops*.. haha..

****OLD**** Sony Mobile ES was the shizzzzzzz.... but it's been years since they made a deck that was worth a damn. If you like pretty flashy lights and don't mind a turd in your dashboard they're ok.

im gonna guess you meant single or double din.. the main difference is the size. Most radios come in a standard size (single din).
You'll usually find double din radios as screens, but there are a few out there that arent screens. You have WAYYY more options in a single din though. it just all comes down to what specific features you're looking for in a radio. The radio in my truck has Bluetooth connectivity for hands free phone calls and streaming audio from my phone. It's also a double din touch screen with MODERATE amount of audio control.. Oh, your budget is also a determining factor when looking for radio's. sometimes its the MAIN determining factor... I would personally recommend Kenwood Excelon series. I love the audio control you get with those. but the nicer ones do end up costing more. |

Lol Jrock.. I don't know.. I was just curious why no one had even mentioned them. I remember a buddy (still does) having a brand new Ford Focus back in high school. All black with red accents and huge "Sony Xplod" decals all over it to show that off. I can't remember if it ever sounded great or not, could never get passed the "Ford.. FOCUS" bit. Lmao..
Anyway.. yes I meant "din" haha oops! Thank you. ![]() ![]()

yeah, ever since they went to the xplod name, they went to crap.
if you can use a phillips head screwdriver and a wire crimper, it's easy as pie to install in your truck. i've actually used my teeth to strip the wires before...i don't reccomend that. |

Uhm yeah.. I DON'T THINK SO! Lol!! But if that's about as difficult as it gets then I'm set! Sweet, can't wait to actually narrow it down to something.
![]() I'm going to re-edit my first post so when people are checking this out (if anyone else ever needs it) they'll get a quick overview of members recommendations.
