Good luck finding one in a junk yard.
Sometimes you can find them on eBay, but they don't generally come with a warranty (or a very short one) and they are getting expensive.

Yea parts for v6's I've noticed are really hard to find. But hopefully a seller on eBay can do it or I will just buy a used one on eBay and hope the same thing doesn't happen.

If you go looking on eBay, you can also search for Pathfinder and 4-cylinder versions.
The Pathfinder versions will come with more features, like a digital clock that I got. On the 4 cylinder versions, the tachometer will not read accurately, but everything else works the same. Just do not get a "square dash" instrument cluster.

Okay, I figured pathfinders would work. And worse case scenario I will just get the 4 cylinder and deal with it.

Hello, the speedometer in my 89 4wd D21 z24 isn't working. Just put a brand new cable in. It spins when manually twisted from the other end. When I drive I can see it spin so I know the cable is seated in the tranny and gear in there is good. The square hole in the back of the cluster doesn't look rounded off and I can spin it. The needle isn't stuck but I can't get this thing to work. My odometer and trip work. Does that mean the speedo itself is broken?

Sounds like the speedo is having issues.
When you spin the gauge end by hand does the kneedle move?
