Anyway to drift with stock ka24e?

I have a 97 d21 ofcourse.
KA24E 5-Speed
Welded diff.
Havent quite found a good place to practice, but i was wondeeing with that engine is it even possible?
I plan on swapping later, but i want to start to learn ASAP.
I know theres a lot of non engine parts needed as well.
Im going to post in introductions tomorrow with some pictures.

look up Local Losers on YouTube. they have drift trucks and a very capable KA24E. Dont forget this engine is close to the 240sx KA24E just different intake and some other small stuff.

As long as you have a 5 speed and aren't afraid of replacing clutches you should be able to get er to slide around just fine. Having that light weight back end means you don't need as much power to break grip.


Most people recommend learning to drift on lower power engines to get the technique down before going straight for big power.

you can weld the diff but it plays hell on the axle shafts. i used to drift a 1990 240sx with the KA24E and a welded diff and it was lots of fun and very reliable until one day it wouldnt start so i swapped in the SR20 i had laying around and then spun a rod bearing and that ended up destroying the engine, Even had the 1UZ ready to be rebuilt but the cost was more than i had.......no more drift car...oh well HARDBODIES FOREVER!!


reminder: a welded diff in the rain can be scary if you dont know how to control the drift. i love drifting and havent done it in many years but i still have what it takes. if i remember right the axle from the Isuzu Rodeo/Honda Passport had the Dana 44 and its limited slip.

Ive seen them, i like there chassis upgrades, but i just dont want to spend on the motor if im gonna swap it. Imma sell the old ka

Thats what i was told.(scary)
Its better IMO becasue you get even wheel power, vs 1 power wheel be the wheel that has no grip
