Default how do I pull TBI injectors out?

Hey all...

I have taken the top off, and the oval retainer, and am down to the 2 injectors...

They wiggle a little bit, but seem stuck on the TBI housing/bore..

any advice..??..

I need to have them rebuilt -

I'm bumping your post because I hope someone jumps in to help you. Now don't take this as gospel...but I did a big blow-up on the injector from the FSM.

Doesn't look like it has any threads on it or anything. From what I can tell, it just pops in and out, and is held in place by a couple of round rubber rings. That's only what I can see from the picture after blowing it up four times normal size.

I have NOT pulled an injector from a TBI system....just saying. Maybe shoot some stuff in around them, but nothing that if it got sucked into the intake later would damage the intake or anything beyond that. Maybe a SMALL amount of WD-40 and let it sit for a while? I could make some other suggestions, but it someone jumps in and says they just 'pop out,' then I recommend you do this carefully and wrap something soft, like a piece of a rag, around the tool you use to pop it out. Don't want to damage the thing.

Now we wait to see what the REAL experts say LOL.

The problem is 35 years of fuel has hardened the rubber grommet around the injector.

The problem is that 35 years of beer has hardened the arteries around the muscles. :-)

The service manual talks about a special tool that sits underneath and you tap it out with a hammer. I'm guessing you could get by with a socket of the right size and an extension.

Fish oil, CoQ10, curcumin, daily low dose aspirin. "Couldn't hurt"
