My EGR tube is a problem. On the exhaust manifold side the threads look good but won't go all the way in. It does go in quite a bit but I think the hole needs to be chased. I see here at Infamous that it's a 24M X 1.5 bolt hole but is it a fine thread or what?

I don't know much about bolts but I think I'm asking about thread pitch.

Metric is not refernced as being fine or course thread.
That translates to 24mm w.a thread pitch of 1.5 mm to the ? (Not sure). But, it translates to a fine pitch. In standard thread, a 1/4-20 bolt has an OD of 1/4" and a thread pitch of 20 threads to the inch....exact same thing, only different (the unit that is used to compare thread pitch is in metric). |

![]() Metric: for example 24mm with a thread pitch of 1.5mm would be 1.5mm between the threads. Common metric bolt/nut threads start with 6.0mm x 1.0mm, and 8.0mm x 1.25mm

Thanks for clearing this up for me. Next project is to get those threads straight.
