Default Electrical Nightmare

I have been searching through these threads for a while and haven't found what I needed so I figured I'd register and ask.

I've been chasing down an electrical gremlin for a while and cannot figure it out. A little back story on this truck. It's a 1993 D21, 2.4 4x4. It has been dealership and single shop maintained since it was bought new until it was sold to me. Maintenance records since 10/92. I'm going to try and be brief. It seems like everything that I would expect to activate when the key is in the run position does not turn on. No dash warning lights, no turn signals, no blower motor and the interlock switch does not work. Hazards work in the rear but not the front. Headlights, brake lights and tail lights all work. Other than this, the truck runs like a dream for 203k.

I have replaced the ignition switch, turn signal switch, fuseable links and started checking all relays. Battery is new and alternator is functioning properly as tested using a multimeter at the battery in key off, key on and running. I am at a loss and cannot drive it without turn signals. Anyone have any ideas before I take it to an automotive electrician?

Welcome to IN...

I'd suspect the TS stalk. It can be replaced... search the site for a PN. Seems I recall Amazon as a reference. May even check with your local Nissan stealerships or parts house.

If you don't have a FSM yet, check the link in my sig... v v

Probably at least as bad as a Jeep so worse than a cow.

If you are referring to the turn signal stalk, it has been replaced.

I wouldn't expect good quality off Amazon. There are reasons that people call it Scamazon.

Try rockauto.com.

You know which circuits are not getting power. I'd suggest downloading the FSM like 89'HBV6 suggested, and look through the wiring diagram.

Find one if the things that is not getting power and trace it on the diagram to where it should get power from and start probing with a meter or test light until you locate the bad connection or whatever is causing your grief.
In the meantime, you can let the window down and use hand signals on turns.

I have ZERO hands-on experience with your year (I have a 1998). My dash warning lights, turn signals, etc. do NOT operate with key in the "accessory" position - they only operate with key in the "Run" position.

I was chasing my tail on the same issue this summer. Same symptoms and same efforts didn't make a difference. It ended up the bolt that holds the SMJ worked its way loose, reseated the connector and re-tightened with locktite. It's that giant white plastic thing with a brass 10mm bolt in the middle up under where the fuse box is.

Check all the fuse seats. Sometimes they spread out and make intermittent contact.
