Oops my bad, read that wrong. It’s your cable park brake.
I’ve had vehicles that the cable stretches too much and quits working like yours is doing.
Also had a Santa Fe that the whole foot actuated park brake ripped off the firewall which was the cause of the same problem as your having.
Have a look at all the parts in the system to see if anything is cracked or about to break, also the cable itself might be stuffed....

Turns out there was a piece that was seized.Managed to get if off and lube it with brake grease and all is good now.

Not really sure how the breaks could be reversed and put back on.
