The battery fits so snugly that I dont think that'll be an issue, but I may do that anyway. Thanks for the tip!

I ended up using a 72 Chevy truck battery tray as I wanted to remove the 2 bolt rod clamp style and go with the single bolt down with GM rubber wedge to hold battery in place.
