Default KA24E to VG33E?

Hey everybody.

First time poster here, Ill try to make it brief. For the record, I have a 1993 d21 4x4 with a 5 speed manual sporting a ka24e.

I was curious if It is possible to swap a vg33e into my truck. I have been seeing it being possible with the vg30 d21's but Im not sure with the ka24e. Would the transmission bolt right up? Would I have to get a kit? CAN it even mate to the engine?

Also, if the transmission does bolt some way or another. Am I gonna have to bolt on different engine mounts or will the existing ones work? I doubt the existing ones work since its going from a straight engine to a V, but thought Id ask.

Im looking more for a easier and cheaper swap than anything. I see that there are low mileage engines for cheap in my area and thought I give it a shot. Im only looking for the power bump to get me back up to speed on highways.

Those are the main things I'm worried about. Thanks again, I do appreciate any help. If you have guides or resources that would be greatly appreciated.

trans bellhousings are different, you will need the wiring harness and computer out of the v6 truck also

If you have the transmission and motor mounts you can get the engine in the truck somewhat quick but then wiring happens and that will be complicated.

cheapest route for a upgrade might be buying a good v-6 truck. otherwise fix what ya got. I grumble bout the power in mine but it always does it and gets there. Look at both answers hard, even with the v-6 it is not gonna be a hotrod.

The easiest direction is for sure to get a V6 truck and do the swap. With a V6 truck it's literally plug and play. A VG33 with good cams and headers will walk all over the VG30. Mine is TBI and I still have a huge difference in daily driving.

I've done the VG30 to VG33 also, and I put cams and headers on mine.

I notice a difference, but it doesn't seem as huge to me as it does to others.

Maybe the Long Bed is heavier, or maybe I just set my expectations too freakin' high.

He is going from the 4 banger up...everything changes for electrical and that is where the issues (tho solvable)hit. He wants easy and fast..... (snicker)

I roll big tires. If I can go over the pass without a downshift I call that a win and a huge increase in power. And the fact I can roll bigger tires with ease.

My motor is also different than JP's. Mine is a JDM spec motor though my cams are probably very similar to his and like JP I also have headers.
