Default Convert bucket to bench 95 king cab

I have a 1995 king cab 4x4 and don't love the center console. It's too short to lean on and drive and doesn't hold a bunch or have cupholders. I would much rather have the bench seat. I've read that all the bolt holes line up for the bench seat but I don't know what to do about the handbrake. Will the bench seat get in the way. Also could I convert the handbrake to the type that goes under the dash?

Hand brake probably won't work on the bench seat.

You'll probably want to convert to the pull brake that goes under the steering column on the ignition side.

Here are a couple of reference pics from my online storage cloud.

Not my truck:

You know, I don't have many pictures of the interior.

Huh.

You can see it in the first 18 seconds of this video.

Might have to source the parts to convert to under the dash. All the ports are their to do so.

I would look at the FSM (factory service manual) to see what difference are between the 2 e-brake systems. IIRC, you will need to get everything from the backing plates forward. but I may be thinking the difference between the disc and drum systems. Instead of getting rid of the buckets why not get a separate center console. mine is from a 95 Taurus.

I really like the idea of the bench seat. I am not dead set on it though. does anyone know where I would start to convert the parking brake?
