what the heck is a joint connector? several are shown on various schematics in my Nissan manual

Joint connector is a connection point for several circuits.

so Dave, is this "point" a connector, terminal block, stud post....... I see several of them in the schematics in my Nissan manual. it shows them with connectors. Any more info you have will be helpful

They are called rolling papers.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I don't think it's too specific since circuits can be joined inside the fuse box,at connectors, common ground points, etc (although usually the grounds are marked as such).
