Hopefuly it all is done today. Waiting for my dad to get home another set of hands and eyes. it moved, 12" backwards to get it up on some drive on stands. Bastard wanted to just sit there and spin all 4 in 4lo at an idle in the saw dust floor and not go up the metal ramps. Sounds like a beast with open headers but much too loud for me.

I missed something.

It moved 12" backwards? What, the headers? That was way off!

Moved the truck, lol.

Got it mostly done and took it for a spin! I have a leak where I had to cut the y pipe as one of the temp exhaust clamps decided to crush.

First run report, it sounds like a VW but boy does she go! She wanted to step out across the chip sealed highway in first and churped them into second. Noticably more power and much better throttle response, even with that giant leak. Hope to have to leak fixed tomorrow, if not by tuesday.

Good work ! You keeping the stock muffler?

2.25" pipe with a high flow muffler works well on the V6

Got some photos. Not sure if I have any of the cut y-pipe but my y-pipe was not wide enough and was pushing the header away from the engine at an angle due to this. Had to cut it, install the header, trim and re-flare the y pipe piece and had about a 0.5" gap. Sleeved that, crushed one of the temp exhaust clamps and it leaks from there. Need to weld it.

Pacesetter y pipe hangs down a little lower than stock.

It doesnt look that dirty till a flash is used!

Used a piece of the factory exhaust heat shield to make a heat shield for the fuel lines. May re-route at some point but not sure how to. Ill do some thinkin.

My setup for working on it today. Note to others, the cat side of the exhaust may have an internal flange like mine did. The PS y-pipe flange will not fir over it. I had to cut mine off with a hacksaw. It took quite a while.

It wanted to spin all 4 and not go up the ramps. That was an unnerving experience with the exhaust not fitted, open headers and possibly sketchy metal ramps. LSD works great! In 2wd it spun both rear and started digging.

No. Header wrap is really good at keeping moisture in and rusting out the headers from the inside out. I drive in good deep snow in the winter and occasionally deep water off road so I am skipping them.

I'm thinking of putting something like that around my speedometer cable where it is close to the exhaust, I have it tie wrapped up now but if the tie wrap were to break, don't want to burn through a brand new cable.
