Default Fixing the old girl up

Hello all....I have a 88 D21 truck I've had since 94. It has survived 2 teenaged boy drivers (though one of them hit the back of a car and bent things up). I'm gonna keep the truck til I die....it's always been a good runner and never let me down. So.....I've spent a bunch of money replacing this n that....new front bumper, grill, headlights, corner lights, front turn signals, AC vent covers, dash (yes a new Nissan dash), new rear bumper, took the tank off and had it cleaned, replaced the fuel pump assembly, and.....here's what I've been looking for and haven't found....Fuel Tank Vent valve part# 1733032P00. It's connected to the fuel tank on one end and the evaporation tube on the other end (mine has the throttle body engine). I checked it by trying to blow through it in both directions and no air is getting through. I've looked everywhere for a new part and it's always the same result...."Discontinued". I'm thinking if it's stopped up and I leave it on, there could be some pressure build up in the tank on a hot day? Your thoughts?

A lot of parts are discontinued, particularly parts that are not listed as wearable items, like your Fuel Tank Vent Valve.

Try contacting david29. He is an admin on this site and sells used parts to members for less than you'd be able to get them for on ebay. Here is the link to his PM:

Got a pic of that vent valve? I had to replace the vent valve on my 91 Mercedes last summer. It was broken and directly venting fuel vapor under the car and it smelled like 20 gallons had been spilled inside the car.
