Default wheel bearing and tie rod shock preference

looking at getting new wheel bearing, tie rods and ends, ball joints and shocks. wanting to know yalls opinion on all. what do you use and how long has it or did it last??? My plan is drop spindals when i can find some cheap fenders. dont know if that will play into any opinions now for later type thing.

Steering parts I like Moog, some have said they don't have the same quality that they used to but I think for most 2wd applications Moog is fine.

a former member on here was saying something about parts that are stamped with "555" supposed to be made in Japan and better quality but no one really tested that theory.

OEM is OEM, if you want the same as what came on the truck and don't mind spending more, than get OEM, for less money and still good quality I would go with Moog.

no idea who makes the OEM wheel bearing, I think I used Timken bearings on my 93

I purchased my suspension parts from www.RareParts.com . All the parts came from the USA or Japan. Some of the Japanese parts had the "555". Only time will tell hot good they are. When I looked at them they appeared to be quality parts.
I will say the control arms that I got for my other vehicle (2007 Altima). Where of much better quality than what I had put in there previously, and they where made in the USA not China. I purchased direct from them so it was not much more than the Chinese parts in cost. I should had purchased from them first.

when my pass tie rods took a dump, i used some cheap ass ebay ones. 2 years later, its still holding together. i might regret it later, but for now its fine for daily driving. they even came with grease fittings which surprised me.

I have experience here. Buy cheap and you will regret it.

If you buy NAPA they are made by Mogue, and made in the USA and/or Japan.

If you order online from a Moog retailer you still get good stuff but it takes longer.

On the Idler arm, I bought an inexpensive one and it went bad within a year, buy Altrom - and ONLY Altrom - they own the OEM stuff for most Nissan stuff.

Now the NEXT thing to note is that even Moog comes without paint on it, 1 year in after some wet 4x4'ing and my suspension has a light coat of rust on it...so I'm going to be under my vehicle with POR-15 and just paint it on with a small brush.

PAINT BEFORE YOU INSTALL - best way to go

FYI Mercury Marine sells a paint that is used for the lower leg of outboards and it's "Phantom Black" - DURABLE and tough paint that also matches 100% if you have black paint but it's good for suspension parts, as is caliper paint from NAPA .

Also grab a Calmini Idler arm brace, they are most awesome!
