Default Buying a 97

Looks like I will be buying a 97 D21 this week. I have narrowed it down to 2 and the finalist are....

Black 97 manual 5speed cold a/c ( very important in Florida) a/m f/m cd player
156,000 miles 4 cylinder no smoke no leaks clean inside
good running full bed liner and 6 spoked rims $2200

Or a
Green 97 NISSAN XC WITH 160,000 miles ! automatic, new tires everything works A/C a/m f/m cd player Good running $1875. no bed liner and a few more dings and dents

Since I usually know just enough to be dangerous I'm looking for the opinion of the board. I need a daily drive to get back and forth 30 miles round trip highway drive. What say you

If you want it to be a fun ride go with the 5 speed. Automatic 4cyl is pretty boring. Other than that, just which one do you like better.

the auto trans in these trucks suck. plain and simple. the 5 speeds are well known for reliability as long as you keep oil in them and even change the oil now and then. there are many that have well over 300k miles without a problem.

i've owned several...i currently have a 95 & a 97, one with automatic the other is a 5 speed...i wouldn't get rid on one over the other...the automatic has 325k miles and has always worked flawlessly, the 5 speed, 151k miles and a fun truck to drive

So I did it I bought a truck. But not one of the 2 in the poll. So here's the deal its a 1995 Nissan Extended Cab XE with 117,000 miles. It's a one owner, four-cylinder, truck with some faded paint some dings and dents some weather stripping that needs to be replaced as well as some lights out on the dashboard a bad turn signal. It has AC that blows cold, it's an automatic, drives well, has a bedliner and some fancy chrome outside mirrors. Tires are fairly good brakes will need to be replaced.
His asking price was $1900 and after some negotiation he agreed to take $1400
I think it was a pretty good deal.
So I guess this poll is closed.
I will needs lots of help as I go through the process of fixing up my new truck. Glad I found this board and all the great advice you all have.
