Lucky you. You have a tractor that you can load and take home.

![]() Because of that, the mower got off balance. Of course, I kept mowing, and the excessive vibrations caused the top portion to shear off. ![]() Just the parts are going to set me back about $350. That bottom plate has a torque spec of 450 ft/lbs, and I don't have a torque wrench that big. And who is able to pull 450 lbs? I'm in shape, and I don't think I can do that! ![]() But the tractor is home now, and the truck did it's amazing job again.

Longer bar to get 450ftlbs. I've broken a few breaker bars with some extra pipe and I'm a little guy.

What do you mean by that, like a cheater pipe or some sort of tool that I've never used?
It's still got to be able to withstand 450-ft/lbs.

Dropped the wheels and tires to be mounted. Added the truck back onto insurance. Pick it up on Wednesday to get smogged and reregistered.

Exactly. A cheater bar. Some nice thick wall square tube. You could calc it all out. Measure how much force you put in a bathroom scale my leaning on it on the wall. Let's say it's 50lbs. Leaning on a 9 foot bar will give you 450ftlbs. I think the last breaker bar I broke was taking off a brake caliper bolt on my mom's Audi. 120ftlbs + 90 degrees. I did that with a 24" bar. I weigh 135lbs. A buddy of mine had 9 guys standing on a breaker bar with a 10 foot extension on it to loose a lug on a tractor. They ended up welding a giant ring on the end and using a pickup to break the lug free. Torque multipliers rock.

For that much torque you might want to consider stepping up to 3/4" drive. Breaker bar length doesn't matter too much since it'll have a cheater pipe on it anyways.
You can get a 3/4" set from HF for less than $100. The tools themselves don't have to be anything special, they're just beefier most 1/2" drive ones. Many years ago I had to remove a very stubborn axle nut on an old POS car I used to own. Even with a 6' pipe over the breaker bar and someone inside standing on the brakes it would still overpower them and make the car roll forward. I ended up putting the transmission in reverse to hold the car still so I could break the nut loose. Then of course it broke the drive square off and I had to ride my bike over to HF to get another one before I could finish the job.

Yeah, I've got one of those Harbor Freight specials. Someone listed a used set on Facebook. Best $25 I ever spent. It comes in handy.
