Today I took the stripe off the pass side of my truck. It was all messed up and looked like poop. The driver side is fine so I left it on for now. I kind of like it without so maybe I'll take it off too. Only took about an hour. Blew off the sticker with the pressure washer and used a plastic scraper with mineral spirits to get the glue off. Worked great. No scratches!

I saw your post on facebook about it. Removing stripe can suck sometimes.

what did my D21 do to me today?

threw a flippin AC belt at 3:45 am on the way to work. i kinda deserved it though. two years back when my alt belt let loose, the AC belt was the only survivor. it had a groove cut in the top section from the ac pulley. it flipped upside down and rode like that for about a mile. whats funny was the alt belt was the one that snapped, it flipped the AC belt and caused the PS belt to go who knows where.

fast forward to this morning. im about a half mile from the tractor yard, and i hear a flump flump flump....whack. for a second it sounded like a tire had separated. no dice, those have less than 15000 miles on them. i check the gauges...........still running at 14 volts, temp halfway, still have power steering. i had the AC on defrost and blowing on low so i didnt notice the belt was gone until i opened the hood. i found the belt when i got home. wrapped around the front sway bar and hanging out from under the truck.

since i had new belts for the other truck, i just used the AC (napa) and the PS (napa fleetrunner series) that i got from rockauto last month for a whopping 5 buck together. and they had so many of them, the only belt that i have to restock with is the AC belt.

i swear this truck knows when the lexus gets money spent on it (used transmission two weeks ago for 1300 bucks) and the truck doesnt LOL the bitch always does something.

i found out today that the lexus has a bad passenger inner tie rod. so i ordered a new inner and outer and then i will have to buy the inner removal tool. wonder what the truck is gonna have to say about that..........stay tuned

Did some stuff the other day to my headlights.

And a couple videos of my tick for OldGrey! It still runs a hair rough. Im extremely anal about my truck.

Turn up your speakers for this one. Apparently my truck is quiet.

I replaced my shifter bushing to try to tighten up the play in the shifter. It definitely helped, but is still kinda sloppy.

Drove it on the highway for the first time in a while. Got it up to nearly 80 for a few stretches.

It didn't explode or fall apart!

john that is the same noise mine makes. it didnt do that until the timing belt broke. im pretty convinced that the driver side is off a tooth on the cam gear. i can play with the timing enough to make it just about stop ticking, but then it starts running funny.

if i run it really hard.....like for more than 50 miles at 70 mph, it stops ticking. then after it sits a little while, the ticking returns.

Default '97 given to me

I'm extremely lucky to have a friend gift me a 112k mile 1997 Hardbody.

The previous owner kinda trashed it and it has sat for a long time. I mamaged to get it from one driveway to another with a new battery. At 1/2 or so throttle it wants to die (i can't think of a name for her yet).

I just picked up 5 gal 93 octane and a bottle of booster. I had to replace the EGR to BPT valve line (the tiny 'N' shaped line that works best as a mild 'S' shape.

The distributor cap and spark plugs look new.

I'll make a thread for the project when she's reliable.
