I know it's under the passenger seat. Is there a way to access it to
read a check engine light code without removing the seat? |

Pretty sure you will need to remove the seat.

Does anyone know how I can put fuel in my truck without opening the fuel door?

The return line coming off the rail. Granted it will probably take forever but you might be able to get one of those narrow funnels (like for A/T dipstick tubes) and pour it in through the return line coming off the pressure regulator. The return line isn't pressurized so you won't have to fight against the residual pressure from fuel pump running. The tank should be vented elsewhere.

OK very funny. Joking aside, there is an OBD-1 14 pin connector near the fuse box. I have seen advertised online USB adapters for this connector, and there is software available to access the Nissan Consult system. What I was wondering is if anyone has successfully used this?
(See, e.g. http://www.obdinnovations.com/nissan...i-ft232r-chip/) The D21 is not listed specifically as being tested. |

actually the 95 model would have been OBD2 compliant. there are several products out there that use bluetooth to connect to a smartphone for diagnostic purposes.

The 95 is definitely not OBD2, that occurred in 96. It's OBD connector is not even the usual 14 pin Nissan Consult connector. I am pretty sure there is no existent tool that will connect to the computer. Well I bit the bullet and took out the seat, which was a 5 minute job, and read the code from the LEDs. It's 32, the EGR system. Not sure if I have the patience to track that down, since the truck runs fine.

Check that the solenoid is working when you apply power to it. It's kind of underneath the idle control valve and it's not terribly hard to get to. I got an old picture I'll post up later when I'm at the computer. Also check the vacuum lines for cracks. One of mine was completely broken in half. There's a good chance the valve itself is all gunked up with carbon deposits. I ended up just buying a new one. It's a bitch and a half to get it out if you have the 4 cylinder.

Thanks, yeah I have the KA24. I did try to glance at the hoses but couldn't see anything without starting to take things apart.

Yeah man it's a pain. Rule out everything else before tearing into it. If you do decide the valve needs to come off you'll need a 30mm open end wrench or a large crescent wrench. I think I have a picture of the vacuum routing diagram too, I'll post it up later.
