Ok, so I'm pretty new to customizing cars/trucks and just have a couple quick questions. First, how thick are the brackets (gauge)? How can I find out what rear end I have? And is a proportioning valve required? Or is it just something that is recommended? I have a 1986.5, with the 3.0... Auto trans... Thanks for the help!

They are 1/4" plate, they should fit most any rear ends. The H233 I think only came in the 4wd trucks. The valve is not required.
