Default 5 lug conversion on 85 720

After all of the research that I have done it looks like my 85 720 fronnt suspension and entire frame is the exact same as the 86-91 d-21, can anyone confirm or deny my findings?

Well I can tell u the frames are different. The 720's frames are like two C channels welded together. As far as the supention I am pretty sure they are the same.

Different.

And a 5 lug swap is as easy as ordering upper and lower control arms with toyota ball joints like I did from Dallas Hotrod Parts. Then a toyota axle in the rear.

I know its an old topic but.....

What year was the Toyota rear end that you swapped in? Did you have to modify spring perches?

Did you do the same thing RedSquare as I'm about to do this myself. I think you'd probably have to adjust or modify the spring perches to get it to work.

Without adjusting the spring perches, it is not possible. Can vouch as I went through the process myself a couple of months back.

heres my sticky.. mine went right in without modification and i used the factory driveshaft

So with that being said i would think you would be good but im not aware if the rear of a 720 is any wider/skinnier then the d21
