I've cut back on the guns in my old(er) age. This is what I have right now.

Chinese Norinco SKS modded for the 30 round mag. It works fine. Legal in Washington state, yes.

Old H and K (not Heckler and Koch, some other guys) NINE shot 22 revolver. Kind of weird one. You push on the rod to eject the spent shells one at a time.

Ruger MK2. Never fails.

S/W Model 4506.

30/30 Winchester. Nothing special, not pre-64. Can you see a pattern here? Nothing modern LOL.

I'm looking at a Piretta (?) 1858 New Army .44 caliber cap and ball revolver. Yes, you too can be Josie Wales.

Going black powder huh!

The little Ruger MK2 guns are amazing. What a blast!

Cabela's will sell you black powder revolvers all day from between $200 and $270 on most models. I don't recommend the cheaper Confederate Navy pistols with the brass frames. Plus there is that wedge or whatever you call it, that you have to dig out for reloading. The New Army models are easier and better. Accurate out to about 25 yards.

EDIT: The most accurate stock 22 pistol I've ever fired is the Browning Challenger with a 7.5 inch barrel. Those things will hit dead center from any range you can spot your target, once you learn the big blade sight. Just don't raise the knuckle on your thumb up when firing, or you will lose a piece of skin along the top of your thumb. The part where your thumb attaches to your hand. I have a couple of small scars there after I learned that lesson. I once nailed a big buck up the side of a hill in the Olympics from 150 yards, head shot. He came rolling down the hill, unfortunately not all the way so I had to go up there to field dress. I had run out of ammunition on the rifle, if you're wondering. Bango Wango, I adjusted up about four inches for drop. I wish I still had that thing. If you can get your hands on one, you will never be sorry. At shorter ranges, maybe the Ruger single six is just as accurate. Single action, good sights.

I went to the gun show yesterday. My local FFL just got Glock certified last year, meaning he can now buy them way cheaper than a non Glock dealer. Having said that, he sells new gen4s for 479.

When I bought my 357 mag Ruger, I overlooked the fact it had a fixed (milled) rear sight. Big bummer. I had about 640 in it with the transfer, so I grabbed it and the original box and took it to the gun show.

I showed him what I had, and he went to his computer and looked the price up from his supplier. He asked me what I had in mind, and I said how about that new gen4 glock 19?
He said yeah I can do that. He came out on the better end (about 100 bucks) and I am fine with that. I do not mind helping the local guys out. He has always done me right. I did not have to pay for a transfer fee and he covered the background check cost.

So yeah I am happy. The problem I had with Glock prior to the gen 4 is my hand is so big, I would get major slide bite. The fourth generation models eliminate that problem.

I'm always a fan of trading wheel guns in for semis, but you can mill a sight dovetail in those Rugers pretty easily with a Dremel (or an angle grinder if you're a madman) and some hand files if you ever end up with another one.

They make them with the replaceable sights. My dumbass ordered the wrong one.
