Yeah this is some really expensive oil. I buy 5W-30 full synthetic, Mobil 1 is like $25 for 5 qts.

i usually dump castrol in my truck and to be honest it dont really matter what you use for oil as long as it has something it is good to use the oil it tells you but as your truck gets older and more miles you need to use a lighter oil

when it comes to standard transmission oil i use 3 wieght engine oil

I use delo or rotella 15w40 in all my vehicles and have had great results. The viscosity charts show good from 10* and up.

I'm more into changing the oil more often, rather than the brand itself. But my favorite is Quaker State 20-50. I quit using Pennzoil a long time ago, because I heard it contains paraffin.

Is there some reason you guys are using RedLine's MT-90 and not MT-85?

The OEM product is a 75w85 GL-4 and so is the MT-85.

There's no real difference in price or availability.

Just curious why the MT-90 is recommended here.

All crude based oils have some amount paraffin.

I think it's probably just because mt-90 is the most common one that comes up. MT-85 would be just fine to use.
