Default hood inserts

how do you remove the 3 inserts on the mailbox hood. Do they just clip from behind? Don't want to break them getting them out.

Pocket screwdriver does the trick to work them out.

They can be tricky to remove. Small flat blade screwdriver and pry them out from under the hood.

Not sure you can get new ones I have the set that are in my hood but I’m going to be painting it and I got an extra set from Gary Johnson just in case I would break any.

There are some new ones on amazon and eBay. They may fit a 97.

What has them. I've gotten them from there.

97 doesn't have mail slots, only 86.5-89.

The carbon myst (Rust-Oleum I think) matched perfectly to my factory metal flake bumper, grill and old inserts.
