Default Spark plug wires - V30E

Is there a trick to Connecting the spark plug wires on the VG30?

I bought a set of NGK wires (RC-NX97), and the boots feel super sloppy when putting pressure on the top...

In my experience with recessed spark plugs (honda, Toyota, etc), the boots were always rigid, which allowed you to provide pressure on the top, and get a positive click.

These ones flex, and i can't tell if they've snapped onto the end of the plug.
especially the long ones for under the intake manifold.

Tips?

I had some that were a but loose once. A very small pinch with some pliers fixed that problem. I did that using a spare plug so i knew what to feel as it locked on the tip.

You should be able to feel them click into place but they will be floppy. It's like pressing a noodle onto a sparkplug.

Thanks for the input everyone.

In my 25 years of wrenching, i've never had this much trouble with spark plug wires...
LoL

Can v8 Swap an rx7 in a weekend... AT to MT swap a 5th gen Celica in an evening...
Can't connect spark plug wires on a VG30.

it turned out, there was so much dirt around the base of the plugs, it wasn't allowing the boots to seat completely.

Once i got it all cleaned out, they snapped into place.
if the boots had been even 1mm shorter, it wouldn't have been an issue.
