Unfortunately no, and the diesel engines that came in these are incredibly difficult to find. I've got a OM617 I'm prepping to put in my truck instead.

If you're super keen you could import one.

I keep hoping JapaneseClassics will import diesel hilux or d21 pickups. So far there have been a few Mitsubishi but no Nissan or Yotas

That should be fun and complicated by your truck being a 4x4.

They weren't sold at the dealership but some were imported by individuals and several are still in operation. Here's a link for one that sold a few years ago.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...-d21-crew-cab/

I saw a blue one on the road here in Phoenix but it was going the opposite direction so I didn't get to check it out very much. There was a red one for sale in the Phoenix Craigslist just recently but the ad is no longer up. It wasn't here, it was in another state and the price was under $10K.

Not a diesel, but aren't these kind of rare? An SE king cab V6 five speed...TWO wheel drive. It's in the Puget Sound area. l No chrome though. One owner.

Yeah....

I'm going to start off with it just being RWD. Going to use a GM trans so I can get a transfer case easier later. I'm really leaning towards switching the rear end to independent rear suspension. I first built the truck thinking I was going to do a lot more rough terrain, but the offroading I do here I'd really be better off with more of a rally car setup than a rock crawling rig.
