Default 96 d21 auto trans fluid

Would I be okay with this fluid in my 96 4cyl Auto?

Yeah that supersedes the fluid made in 96. I run valvoline maxlife atf in my automatics.

Ive got a 97 automatic-4cyl

Are you changing out trans filter or just fluid?

Wondering my fluid has 50,000+ on it and probably do a change

Fluid and filter.I hope I did the right thing---I bought this for $17.99 per jug at Walmart just $4 more per gallon.

Maxlife is good stuff. I wouldn't hesitate to use it. Most older cars aren't really that picky about fluids. FWIW I've been running the cheap supertech fluid in my car for years in both the transmission and the power steering. I change it every few years and it's never given me any problems.
