Crank is different you'll need the vg33 crank to make the oil pump work.

Sorry where you commenting on my vg30 oil pump change? I used a v40 vg30 oil pump on my last vg34.

These are all 4wd w/d21 and w/d22s. I assume the 2wd d21 is the same just shallower pickup tube.

Here is my last vg34:

The 2wd is similar to the 4wd D21 just shallower like you said. I used the WD22 Xterra Oil pump(well filter housing since the pump's are the same with out that housing.) I really wanted the relocated filter like the Terra's and D22's. Burned myself a few too many times and had the option So I did it. Would like to add a secondary filter in the Original D21 location for a little more capacity though.

Wow awesome info man. I plan on doing some mods to my vg in the future. So the VG33 heads flow better then my stock 30? And if so, are all 33 heads the same?

So would this work with a vg33 xterra Trans if I took out a z24i and Trans?

You might want a few extras. The wiring harness on the VG model engine has a spot for 6 injectors. The cross member to hold the transmission is likely different, too.

The heads flow better but the cams will let you down. Use the vg33 0w0 heads with the vg30 cams. To my knowledge they are the onlybchange up was in the pistons to male the later ones non interference.

Starting from a 4cyl (either z24 or ka24) youd be better served finding either a 2wd vg33 fronty or getting a parts d21 v6 >90 and a seperate vg33.

Default wiring

I am planning on doing this swap however the harness I already have on this truck needs work. I was wondering if it would be better to switch to a vg33 harness or stick with the 87 vg30e that's on it.

And seperately how would supercharging work out on this swap. I'm totally up for mods as I am already doing it. And i only want to do it once so doing it right at cost is ok.

I would like to keep the old intake and throttle body if I can't do the sc swap. So is it possible to do that?

Default heads this time

Also you said the heads flow better on the 3.3. Is it possible/rational to get the 3.0 heads milled and ported rather than swapping cams. Would it add more compression to the cylinder(not much im sure)?
