Default Interior Lighting

Small annoyance here. My interior light/ dome light burned out. No part stores seem to have the correct replacement, nor do they list it in their computers. When I look at the light bulb, it only tells me its 10 watts. Same thing as the owners manual, 10 watt. No bulb type is listed.
Does anybody know where to get one or what type it is. The closest in wattage that I could locate in stores is 4w. Its for a 1988 Hardbody, King Cab, SE-V6 4x4, the light on the ceiling in the rear of the cab that flips down as well.

That's not the one. I think thats the one that I saw in pathfinders, but I guess the single cabs take that style as well. Its getting harder to find little things for that truck now. It is a round bulb, with a cylindrical base, and two nubs that lock it. I'll try to figure out how to post a pic later today.

you have the fold down dome light? If so it takes a different bulb ( like you said)

like this bulb, #1003:

or it could be a #97 like this:

So I gave up for a while and just dealt with the useless dim bulb. No stores carried the right bulb, and the dealer didn't have what I was looking for either.
Eventually I found out what the base was called by looking through a few of the books that Napa keeps on hand. It is a BA9S base type. I then found something that would fit on Amazon. It is labeled as a BA9S 3014 bulb, and it is extremely bright. It is strange that these were impossible to find without going online.

BA9S are cylindrical based, the rear dome light to my knowledge is a tube style bulb. I have a 4x4 and it is a tube style bulb according to my memory. I threw almost all LEDs in my truck last summer and the rear one I'm pretty sure is not BA9S. Might want to check again my dude. I'm also seconding the LED. I have a green one, which isn't all too bright, but I tried a white one and man. It is nice. Good luck!
