Default 05 Frontier Stalls randomly

A buddy of mine has a 2005 4wd automatic frontier. He is having problems with it stalling out randomly. Sometimes it just does like the key is turned off and sometimes it sputters and tries then dies. Doesnt matter if its in town or on the highway. The main fuse panel was replaced since he was told it could be that. Its not throwing any codes or CEL that can be found with a handheld scanner. Fuel pump is less than 3 years old. Its dying within 2-3 miles when its warmed up.

Any ideas?

Don't know if this would help or not...

A guy I used to do work for had a 2000 Xterra, 2WD. It would also stall out randomly and wouldn't want to crank afterwards. The starter was also shot so we replaced it. It ended up being the neutral safety switch causing the problems. I thought that was kind of weird since in theory that switch should only keep it from starting, not running. Low and behold, it fixed the problem (also if, it's a v6 have fun snaking the wiring harness up behind the exhaust manifolds).

Does it still die once it's been warmed up or just when cold? I would start with common relays that it needs to run and their grounds. When it stalls do the dash lights stay on or does it go dark?

Ill recommend the neutral safety switch. My buddy currently has a fuel pressure gauge on it since the pump has been replaced once before. Another buddy from school, used to be his mom's truck which was recently replaced by a diesel dodge so they sold it to the other buddy as he wanted to tinker with it.

Doesnt seem to matter if its cold or hot when it dies. The entire fuse block and all relays have already been replaced. Im not sure about the dash lights. Ill have to ask.

That's weird. The only other thing I can think of is the transponder key (being an 05 it probably has one)...maybe something is causing the PCM from reading the chip in the key momentarily which would cut power to either the ignition or the fuel pump (I don't know how nissan does it). Then after it shuts off it reads the signal again and starts like nothing ever happened.

Sometimes it doesn't want to start either. Sometimes it'll fire right up and other times it'll crank and crank.
