The lady is not really enthused about it, lol. Talked it over with her last night. She was pretty meh about the idea, but not wholly against it. I'm gonna see if I can take it for a test drive in the next few days.

It's a Blitz. Puts about 7.5psi of boost out. With the intake, header, exhaust, bigger injectors, ECU piggyback, etc. it has a little over a 50% horsepower gain from stock.

So like 80 hp instead of 50.

Sorry man, I couldn't resist. I've owned a couple little tin can cars myself and it always makes me laugh when I have to floor it for whatever reason. That's cool though, didn't they offer the Yaris in a SC variant at one point? Also is it a 5 speed?

ROFL, it's about 160. Not bad in a tiny car :P I don't think they ever offered a factory boosted one, at least not in the US. Mine's an auto unfortunately. If it was a manual I probably wouldn't be so bored with it.

It does pretty decent burnouts nonetheless.

After thinking about it for a while I'm going to pass on it. There's just enough stuff wrong with it that the price isn't really that great.

Well old grey, this is just my .2 cents having worked in the auto industry long enough to see some older classics like your Benz..

Dump the Yaris. Yes it might be great on gas, but you also have to consider the insurance. The benz will always hold a good sticker price, especially with collectors. The D21 is a classic as well and there are still many of those running around today. The Yaris hasn't been around long, but they don't hold value all that well since no one is rushing out to collect a Toyota.

Go with the Trans am. Fix the problems with it, and it will be a great show car or a weekend roller with the wife. I only dumped my truck because of having a baby, otherwise I'd still have it.

That was my original plan, but the paint is the biggest problem. Everything but the doors needs paint. If painting that much of the car, might as well do the whole thing. That's a couple thousand dollars though. If he'd take that off the price I'd snag it, but I don't want to end up with $10k in a car worth $5k.

Right now I'm leaning towards getting the Benz 100% (or at least to the point where it's shifting through all 4 gears) then exploring my options again. I'm still not sure if it's a control issue or an actual problem with the trans that's keeping it from sticking in 4th gear. Could be a cheap fix or could be a couple grand for a new transmission. If the latter, she's going to be using gears 1-3 for a long time lol.

Have you done any drain and fills with the trans?
