The door may not be closing all the way. Make sure by looking up at the plastic gears to make sure it's going all the way in the defrost position. Or it's got some blockage in the way of the flow.

Replace the foam sealant on the evaporator when you pull it. I pulled mine and the foam was so old it just crumbled apart on me. I plan on replacing the foam and putting in a new condenser soon, ordering the condenser tomorrow.

I checked the part that switches the air flow between floor, vents and defrost yesterday, and it appears it is working correctly. When I move the lever from defrost to vents the gear is moving as far as it can move. Flow from the defrost vents seems like it has more flow than it did before, I don't know why it feels like it has more flow now unless replacing the cruddy evaporator made the difference. Probably the reason why with the restriction the old evaporator had.

Clogged evap will lessen the flow of air for sure.
