Looking at my old dash removal pics, it looks like the cables attach to white plastic levers that are likely hooked to internal flaps that control the air flow. Hope this is what you were asking.

was wondering more where the part is the cable connects too, I think when I pull the glove box I will be able to see it better, I think it is right behind the radio area.

Looks like there is one on the right in the area you just referred and also on the other side as well to the left of center console radio area

you will be able to see it when you have the cooling box out of the truck. its to the left of the box. i think i have a picture i took when i had mine apart. let me see if i can search my attachments.

nope. i took a bunch of pictures while doing the carpet, but never got one of the dash ripped apart.

I can't see why I have good flow out the other area's, but not the defrost. If the door or selector was not adjusted properly I could see air coming out where it shouldn't when it was set to defrost but I am not getting that. Unless there is an obstruction ??

Didn't get to start the AC today as it is pouring out, hopefully tomorrow.

The adjuster cable for the vents is to the left of the radio area, above the gas pedal. The white plastic pieces or tumblers are where that cable end is. A metal clip may have jumped off off. This clip holds the cable in place. This is aldo how to adjust the vent selection. By moving the cable forwards or backwards in the clip.

Mine switches between floor, vent and defrost no problem just the flow out of defrost is very low
