I'm definitely going to replace the valve cover gasket, but it's low on the priority list at the moment.

When I first loosened a lug I was ill as a hornet thinking the lug nut was seized to the stud and had pulled the stud out of the hub. Then I realized that lug bolts are what it uses. Flipping Germans, man. One of my coworkers that runs a Euro car garage said that's a common thing even on modern German cars.

Looking good man. That's quite the project to embark on. What are you filming with if you don't mind me asking? I think it'd be cool to shoot some videos for my Corolla project once I finally get around to it but it might not be in the budget lol.

Thanks! It's coming along, but it is a bit of work.

Part 1 was filmed with my Google Pixel, which I wasn't satisfied with. It filmed in 1080, but only at 30fps and the audio wasn't great. I'm using my old YT camera from back when my channel was a moderately popular gun channel. It's a JVC Everio GZ-HM30. I looked up the order, it was $125 back in 2011 when I bought it. Despite being limited to 720p, at least it's 60FPS and the audio is quite good.

Thanks man. I've been looking into getting one for awhile, something that works and is cheap. The camera will be stationary except for some things that can't be filmed otherwise. Ideally I'd like to make it a time-lapse type video with some pauses and narration, kind of like yours. I think it would be cool to film things like pulling the engine/trans, tearing the motor down and rebuilding it, clutch, etc in one take (or close to it). Sorry, not trying to get too off-topic here.

This JVC one actually has some built in time lapse functionality, but I'll admit that I haven't tried it to see what it does. I've been real happy with this one. It bears the scars of hard use and being lugged around to gun ranges... the lens covers don't work anymore and there's a lot of chunks taken out of the plastic. But 6 years of fairly hard use and it's still going! If JVC still makes em like this, they get my recommendation. I've done all my fast-forward footage in editing post-production.

I hope these are useful for someone else as well, but honestly I make them for myself as much as anyone else, lol. There's been a few times working on the truck that I've been like "man I wish I filmed the last time I did this" so I could reference it. Trying not to make that mistake with this one.

So Amazon derped a price, and I got a set of drilled and slotted EBC front brake rotors for $23 shipped. Karma smiles upon me!

Got a new front bumper on the way. The existing one has some chunks of plastic missing. That kind of stuff just bothers me. The new production bumpers were 50% off on ebay today, so I decided to stop waiting and snag one. Can't wait for that to get here!
