i got too busy coating my rusted floorpan with the flex seal so i didnt fool with the dash pad today.

gotta get that done soon. the cool weather is about to go on a 6 to 7 month hiatus. next weekend is the pass valve cover on the lexus. gotta remove the throttle body and the wire harness. since the coil wire harness is jury rigged, i had to wait until the new connector arrives before tackling that side. i also saw that the radiator was cracked at the top, so a new one has been ordered.

stupid autozone wanted 170 bucks for the rad, i got it with the upper and lower hoses from rockauto for 96.16 shipped. damn these parts stores in town are getting outrageous.

do you have a pull a part near you? LKQ has an email feature that will alert me when the vehicles im looking for arrive on the yard for parts selling.
Well, anything that has been in AZ for a while will look like what I already have.

LKQ does not have any wrecking yards here that I know of, but other yards offer the notification benefit. I may try and grab an engine to build.

Took a while but I wasn't doing anything

I feel you on that one. I grew up in NM and the sun does a number on cars down there. I have two cars that came from there - both have faded clear coat and interior plastics and one is on its 3rd windshield. But they don't rust which makes the SW a great place to find a cheap beater.

You can have a rust free car that looks good on the outside, then you open the door and .

When certain vinyl parts are discontinued it gets to be a problem for those of us who like to keep vehicles a long time.

So jealous of those who have access to good vinyl like cadillacdude75.

Lots of good interiors in wa too but mold can be a problem, especially if the vehicle has been sitting awhile or a weatherproofing seal has been leaking. Luckily it's pretty easy to get mold off vinyl. Personally I'm not bothered by the cosmetics so long as the vehicle is in good shape structurally and mechanically. To each his own.

Rust? - Had rust on my Scirocco rebuild, you cannot go wrong wtih Por-15 That stuff is superb, pricey but superb....forget flex seal, POR-15 does that too. Chemically it changes the rust and prevents future rust.

I read that they coated something with it, put it in the ocean for a full year, pulled it out and it was just fine. Been using it extensively.

Pulled window seals.

POR-15 later...Notice that sexy Nissan behind it
