do bad synchros usually result in the transmission kicking out of gear while going down the road?

if you do end up replacing the clutch and you can wait a few days, order the kit from rockauto. i got a kit for about 80 bucks shipped. it was either an exedy or LUK. i cant remember. it came with the clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bushing and the alignment tool. grabbing a new shifter bushing from nissan is a great idea too. mine broke when the shop did my clutch, and that took two fucking days to get one sent to the shop. also get the shifter boot. both are like 20 bucks from ebay.

Not in my experience. Either bad gear itself or clutch related.
